MOOD
A SPIRITS LIKE NO OTHER
Albanians say of their raki that it sublimates the mood in which is found that or that which tastes it. Gonxhe continues this tradition: it opens your mood and your spirit. Melancholic or happy, your feelings will be increased tenfold by this accelerator of emotions.

Let's get this straight: this elixir has nothing to do with anise-flavoured Turkish raki. Albanian raki is a grape brandy whose specificities are its purity and its taste rich in natural aromas, an alliance of indigenous grape varieties and ancestral artisanal production methods.

AROMATIC BLOW
From a cepage reserved for the production of raki
Gonxhe is made from the Perla grape variety grown in the hills of the Korça region in southeastern Albania. Perla is a white grape grown on small protected vineyards dedicated solely to the production of raki.
These vineyards benefit from an exceptional environment and climate. They are cultivated in terraces at an altitude of 800m, which guarantees:
• A constant temperature, the mountains protecting them from winds and bad weather
• Maximum sunshine - Albania is a Mediterranean country
• The purity of the environment: the pure air of the nearby Ohrid and Prespa lakes, the crystal clear waters of the mountains for the distillation

Between sea, mountain and lake, this exceptional environment gives Gonxhe its aromatic richness and power.
DID YOU SAY ALBANIA?
Yes, Albania is in Europe, just above Greece. And the country is home to some of the oldest vineyards on the continent and native grape varieties among the only ones to have survived the Ice Age (Pules, Debina, etc.).

You should also know that Albania is a 70% mountainous country and many vineyards - including those where Gonxhe comes from - are located at altitude and operated on terraces.
THE DISTILLERY
Gonxhe is produced in one of the most important distilleries in the Korça region, renowned for its know-how.
• Production: the fruit as a whole is used for fermentation then juice and pomace are distilled
• Double distillation in copper column still
